"We saw others eating a tasty looking dish of octopus and Canarian potatoes so decided to try this restaurant. The waiter was attentive and prompt, though our food was delivered by him from the El Cairo restaurant opposite so I’m not sure which establishment I’m actually reviewing! However both dishes were excellent including seafood ravioli and an octopus, shrimp and potato mix. Great spot to watch the seafront."

"I have eaten at La Macarena numerous times (5+) for lunch and dinner and have always enjoyed it. It's a little pricey, but the portions are good, the food is tasty, the view of the beach is fabulous, and the staff are always friendly. A few of my favorite dishes are the tempura eggplant with palm honey, the sirloin with mushrooms, the calamari, and tuna salads."

"Fantastic service and delicious food. This was our favourite night in Gran Canaria. The Tuna Carpaccio was 10/10 and the tuna with veg so tasty. Hearty without being carby. Paella was divine. Entertained with street musicians drifting in.... We enjoyed a few generous drinks after our meal as we were enjoying the atmosphere so much. Genuinely our most enjoyable evening in Las Palmas. Recommend 100%."

"We had a a very friendly and attentive waiter. Sardines were delicious. Langostinos al ajillo were unfortunately overcooked. Fairly priced. It seems that La Macarena and the neighbour restaurant Cairo belong together."

"Best seafood of our holiday. Anthony the waiter is fantastic. Charming, big serving of wine and spirits, chatting but not intrusive. A welcome place. Definitely go here for the special night out."

"Popped in for a 7pm light bite and wine. Waitress offered me a choice of local wine and when I asked about flavour brought out two small glasses for me to sample (the local of course was best). I asked about the broken eggs and black pudding tapas as it sounded very interesting and when it arrived the waitress showed me how to break it all up - it was sooooo delicious too!!! Honestly the best service here out of anywhere you’ll go on the beachfront"

"Great food in good price! Good thing is that you can choose in tapas the option of small/bigger portion, which is also great for single travelers! You can try more yummy food here. Service is very simpatico and view on the Las Palmas and the bay too. Great place to have a lunch or dinner"
